Principal's Bio


Dr. Michele Polk, a 1982 Hardee High School graduate, earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Mathematics Education from the University of Central Florida in 1985. In the fourteen years that followed, she gained teaching experience in both the private and public school sector with one year of service overseas at the Pan American School of Bahia in Salvador, Brazil.

In 1998, Dr. Polk earned a Master of Education Degree in Education Leadership. In 1999, she moved into the position of Dean of Students at Lake Region High School in Winter Haven, Florida which quickly propelled her into her first administrative position as the Assistant Principal at Scott Lake Elementary School in nearby Lakeland. It was at this time that she began to pursue her Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership.

In 2003, Dr. Polk returned to her home town to serve as the principal of Wauchula Elementary School. In 2005, she completed her doctoral program and in 2009 was reassigned to serve as the principal of Hardee Senior High School. In addition to her principal role, Dr. Polk serves as an adjunct professor in the College of Education at Florida Southern College.
