From Highschoolfootballamerica.com Coach Jeffrey Smothers was a key part of the coaching staff that helped lead Toombs County Bulldogs to the 2024 Georgia Class A Division I State Championship, a historic achievement for their program.
With that success and experience at the highest level of Georgia high school football, we’re thrilled to welcome Jeffrey Smothers as the new HEAD COACH of Hardee Varsity Wildcat Football! Coach Smothers brings a proven record of leadership and competitive excellence:
2024 Georgia State Champions — Defensive Coordinator, Toombs County (3 years): Helped build a championship‑caliber defense that powered his team to the state title and deep playoff runs.
3× Assistant Coach of the Year (Georgia): Acknowledged multiple times for outstanding coaching contributions.
Deltona High School (Head Coach, 3 years): Posted a 15‑11 record, earned 2021 District Coach of the Year honors and guided the team to its first playoff win in school history (2020).
Offensive Coordinator, Hardee County: Helped lead the program to multiple district championships.
At the same time, we want to extend our heartfelt appreciation to Darren Bryan for his leadership as our varsity head coach over the last two seasons and his many years of coaching at HHS.
