Earlier this year, students from all Hardee County middle and high schools were invited to participate in the Hardee County Library Teen Room Art Contest. About 40 works of art were submitted.
The Hardee County Library partnered with the Hardee Arts and Cultural Trust (HACT) to sponsor an art competition celebrating the opening of the new Teen Room.
Contest Theme: Retro Video Games
Students were challenged to create artwork inspired by classic arcade games, pixel art, and favorite old-school gaming characters and designs.
Yesterday, the Hardee County Board of County Commissioners recognized three outstanding student artists:
Sarah Aparicio (11th Grade) – Contest Winner “Sonic Keep on Reading”
Belle Tinsley (9th Grade) PAC Man theme
Sara Navarro (12th Grade) High Score Hardee County Library
These talented students, along with their family members, were invited to attend the meeting and receive special recognition for their achievements.
Congratulations to all of the artists who participated!
